Legislative Committee

Purpose of Committee:
The purpose of the Legislative Committee is to review any proposed legislation  which relates to the duties of Town/City Clerks. The Committee will make recommendations to  the Executive Board as to whether the Association should support or opposed  specific legislation. The Committee  works closely with the Association’s lobbyist and keeps the Executive Board  informed of the progress of proposed legislation through the process. When necessary, the Committee solicits  clerks to testify at the various hearings on the proposed legislation. The First Vice President shall serve as ex-officio member of this committee.

Nominating Committee

Nominating Committee

Purpose of Committee:
Officers for the Association are appointed annually at the fall meeting of the  Association. The purpose of the Nominating Committee is to review the qualifications of potential candidates to serve as officers of the Association  for a one-year term. The offices for  which nominations are made include: President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary  and Treasurer. Nominations are  presented to the full Association to be voted upon at the annual meeting in the  fall of each year. The Committee  consists of five (5) members as follows:  the two (2) immediate Past Presidents and three (3) Clerks to be elected  by the membership at the annual meeting.  No member of the nominating committee shall serve for more than three  (3) consecutive terms.

Scholarship Committee

Scholarship Committee

Purpose of Committee:
The  Scholarship Committee is a 2-3 member committee. They meet as needed to review scholarship applications for members with limited funds wishing to attend educational  programs provided by the NHCTCA or NEACTC. The scholarships are awarded to the applicants and presented to the Executive Board for inclusion in the monthly minutes and for payment of said funds to the appropriate organization.

Finance Committee

Purpose of Committee:
The  purpose of the Finance Committee is to review and audit the financial records of the Association at the end of the fiscal year. The results of the audit shall be submitted to the Executive Board by the April meeting.

Education  Committee

Education Committee

Purpose of Committee:
The Education Committee has not met in recent years. In the past, the committee worked in conjunction with the Tax Collectors’ Association to select a joint educational  program to be presented at the Annual LGC Conference.

Annual Conference Committee

Annual Conference Committee

Purpose of Committee:
The purpose of the Annual Conference  Committee is to set up the Annual Conference and coordinate all the activities  associated with the conference. This includes selecting the conference  location, coordinating lodging requirements, food, speakers, activities,  themes, banquet activities, preparation of conference materials, gifts,  entertainment, exhibitors, etc. The Committee keeps the Executive Board informed as plans are finalized and solicits input from the Board when necessary. The Second Vice President shall serve as ex-officio member of this Committee.

Resolutions Committee

Resolutions Committee

Purpose of Committee:
The  Resolutions Committee shall present resolutions at the Annual Conference for  former town and city clerks who passed away in the previous year. Nominations for Honorary Membership shall also  be presented as a resolution at the Annual Conference after being approved by  the Executive Board.
